New Action Camera

As long as I can remember I’ve been a GoPro user; they have always been my action camera of choice. Like all filmmakers, I have had my GoPros fail at the worst possible time due to over heating or some other random glitch.

I did go out and scoop a Hero 11, but I also got the new DJI OSMO Action 4 Camera! All the online reports indicate that the OSMO is more reliable; and that’s what I need. I’m also a big fan of the more cinematic color science.

Magnetic Chassis Mount

I purchased a new magnetic chassis mount by NEEWER. As you can see, It features two groups of very strong magnets. The clamping area is also rubber coated so it won’t scratch or damage the surface. The mount features all aluminum constructions which is a nice feature as it should resist breakage as well as unwanted flexing.

USB Power for External Cameras

Because I always try to be as unique as I can with my shots, I like using Chassis mounted GoPro’s whenever possible. However, I was finding that battery life was an issue. Especially on a winter wheeling adventure.

BEST Overland Trail in Alberta?

Until now, I’ve really only hit up Northern Alberta trails; trails like TransAlta, Lost Knife and of course Ruby Falls. And all those trails are absolutely amazing; but Alberta is so vast so I had a plan for a few southern trips this summer. The record setting wildfire season changed many of my plans; but my trip to Crowsnest Pass was not affected!

ARB Twin Compressor with M.O.R.E Under-Hood Mount Installation

Airing back up after a super fun adventure in the wild was always something I hated. Mainly because my DeWalk portable compressor sucked…and I was always the last one done airing up!

…but NO MORE!

DeWalt Portable Compressor Vs. ARB Twin Compressor

When going on a trail-run airing down is an extremely common proceedure. So is airing back up. For the past couple seasons I’ve been using the DeWalt portable Air Compressor. With my Geolander MTs I tyically run 12 PSI on most runs; airing my 35s back up takes me nearly an hour.

I was always the last one done…it was embarassing…

…but NO MORE!

Yukon Rear Axle-Shaft Upgrade & Park Brake Install

My stock axle shafts were in fine condition, with the exception of a very slow axle seal leak. Regardless, I wanted piece of mind out on the trails that Chromoly Axle-shafts give. So I installed a set of Yukon Gear 4340 Chromoly Axle-Shafts. While there I replaced my parking brake shoes and hardware.

Teraflex Falcon 3.3 Skid Plates

Last year I installed a set of the Falcon 3.3 Adjustable Reservoir shocks. And I must say, to crazy little mormons build some KICKASS shocks! I do like the design of the reservoir because I don’t have to try to find a mounting point for them; and it is a more efficient reservoir design. However, in the rear, both the adjuster knob as well as the reservoir hang quite low and are very exposed to rock and debris damage.

Fortunately, TeraFlex makes a skid-plate specifically designed for use on JKs.
