My 2012 Jeep Rubicon now has 171,000 KM on her and I felt it was time to replace the front axle seals. They weren’t leaking which I am told is a rarity in a Jeep Rubi’s age. The black-book estimate on this job is 4.9 hours, so while I was there I decided some more upgrades were in order.
The first upgrade was Hubs. I haven’t had an issues with my stock hubs but I wanted piece of mind. So I purchased a set of the NAPA Proformer Hubs (UBS BR930839) and I have to say, these are impressive. They include 10.9 Grade studs, zink coating as well as a 32,000 mile warranty. Color me impressed!
The next upgrade had me WAY LESS than impressed. I ordered a set of TeraFlex Chromoly axle shafts (3304100)…and of course I checked the compatibility chart before buying. They were marked as fitting my JK. This was a lie right from TeraFlex that has trickled down to every retailer that I checked.
