Until now, I’ve really only hit up Northern Alberta trails; trails like TransAlta, Lost Knife and of course Ruby Falls. And all those trails are absolutely amazing; but Alberta is so vast so I had a plan for a few southern trips this summer. The record setting wildfire season changed many of my plans; but my trip to Crowsnest Pass was not affected!

Last winter a group of perfect strangers joined me on a short over landing adventure to what ice climbers call “The good, The Bad, and The Ugly”. For us in the off-roading community it’s known simply as “Ghost Falls”. Last winter, we were fighting the elements the entire way; deep snow impeded our progress. Not everyone was up for he battle against mother nature. Only 5 of us made it all the way to the falls.
But now it’s time for a return to the frozen falls; how would the conditions be this winter? What adversity would this small group face?
