Return to Moab (Feature Film) - Breakdowns, Friendship & the Edge of Sanity

Friday, September 19, 2025

I can't think of a better way to kickoff the wheeling season than a pilgrimage to Moab. Last year imprinted so heavily on my soul that I knew I had to return. After some more mods to my Jeep I felt more prepared than I did last year. Between this, and the fact that I wouldn't be going solo...I had a more ambitious trail schedule.

Hell’s Gate—something I wasn’t quite ready for last year—is officially on the agenda this time around. I’ll also be taking on the legendary Trifecta trail, a demanding combination of Poison Spider, Golden Spike, and the Gold Bar Rim Trail. This brutal 32.5 km stretch will easily be the most aggressive and technically challenging trail I’ve ever attempted. It would test the durability of our Jeeps and our mentally, physical and emotional stamina. Would it push us over the edge and make us all seriously question whether we even wanted to keep running trails in Moab at all?

These trails didn’t just leave their mark on our souls—they carved their stories into our bumpers and skid plates. Each dent & scratch will serve as a reminder of the cool things we did on this trip; the NAPA thermostat that failed me on the other hand...is something I would like to forget about for a long time...and then there's that rim that I bent...

Check out my film to see all of our Moab shenannigans!
