Sand Dunes ‘Berta Style!

The Brulé Sand Dunes, which border Jasper National Park, stretch across the horizon, their undulating peaks and valleys sculpted by the eternal hand of wind. A desolate, yet breathtaking landscape; not something you would associate with Alberta Canada; and yet, that’s exactly where the dunes are located!

Glacier Adventure in the BC Rockies

For most of us, visiting Glaciers isn’t the easiest thing to do. They are highly regulated, and if you do get to visit one, they tend to be swarmed by tourists. Immediately after getting off the Whipsaw trail, Rey & I headed north west of Princeton to checkout one of Canada’s hidden Jems…a Glacier without tourists!! Located in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, this Glacier is nestled within rugged terrain and is known for its striking blue ice and dramatic surroundings.

Off-Road Misfortune: The Jeep Adventure Without Tire Chains

I tagged along with a group that was headed to Margaret Lake, which is located in the ever popular Ghost PLUZ. I had been here before, but in the summer. Never in the winter. Ghost is NOT known for its difficult trails; it’s really turned into a training ground for new wheelers; given that I’m looking for more challenging trails I have almost been avoiding this entire area. That being said, there are a ton of places to go in the Ghost region; and I knew the hills leading to Margaret Lake would be a challenge.

We were NOT prepared for the MacKenzie River Trail!

I was invited on a trip to the MacKenzie River Trail; this trail is often referred to as the “Red Mountain” trail. It is another one of Alberta’s more challenging trails. To call this trail narrow is an understatement; it cuts through a thick forrest in the Cardinal River basin; has several steep climbs, off-cambers and an deep washout section; it has all the makings of an epic adventure! The end of the trail is a summit of nearly 6,500 feet that has an amazing view of Redcap mountain.

ALWAYS Use a SPOTTER in DEEP V-Notches!

Time for another Adventure! Two weeks ago, I failed to make it to the Summit of Marble Mountain. I don’t like to fail; so I jumped on the first chance I had to get back to Limestone. My wife opted out of this one so I knew I would be able to tackle the stairs once again. Would I finally make it?

Nevada RC ROCK CRAWLING – Recon G6 Birthday Bash

IT’S FLASHBACK FRIDAY!!!

I’m not sure how many of you know this, but I used to be a “big deal” in the R/C industry. This was a shoot that I was honored to be a part of back in 2015…I was commissioned by Proline Racing (before they turned into corporate sellouts)!

This is still one of my absolute FAVORITE R/C events that I had the privilige of documenting. The RECON G6 Birthday bash was so much fun! Brian Parker put on a great show, and I hope that he is still doing his thing and loving every minute of it!

The CRAZIEST climb I have EVER done in my JEEP!

Time for another Adventure. I am heading back to Limestone; this time with an unlikely passenger.

While I loved the views that Limestone had to offerup last year; I wasn’t to thrilled by the easy route we took. This year, I am going to take the path WAY less travelled to Limestone Mountain. The path i have chosen starts out at the base of Marble Mountain and takes the backdoor to Limestone. This is not an easy route, and I have heard it referred to as Alberta’s answer to BC’s Whipsaw Trail.
