I purchased a new magnetic chassis mount by NEEWER. As you can see, It features two groups of very strong magnets. The clamping area is also rubber coated so it won’t scratch or damage the surface. The mount features all aluminum constructions which is a nice feature as it should resist breakage as well as unwanted flexing.
I made two modifications. First, I added Red threadlock too all the screws; I really don’t want this thing coming apart on a Trunk Road or a Trail. Second, there was a tiny amount of viabration at the quick release mount. I made this mount more vibration proof by adding some “Shoe Goop”. I love this stuff because it’s not neccessarily permanent, and it effectively eliminated the small rattle that the quick release mount had.
With this mount, I have lots of underside mounting options that are well within reach of my BlueTooth connection for remove start/stop as well as powring on/off of the GoPro camera.
The POV of the chassis mount is exactly what I was looking for. Ofcourse because it’s magnetic I can mount it basically anywhere on the under carriage for those unique shots.
